Oxford businesses receive critical and non-critical violations

Since Dec. 5, the Butler County Health Department inspected 56 Oxford eateries, finding critical violations at 19 establishments. The eateries cited were:

  • Happy Kitchen, 32 W. High St., inspected Jan. 9, received four critical and seven non-critical violations. Critical violations included the inability to demonstrate knowledge of food safety; not properly protecting food from contamination, not holding cold foods at the proper temperature; and not properly dating refrigerated, ready-to-eat foods. All critical violations were corrected during the inspection.
  • Tea Cha House, 19 W. High St., inspected Jan. 18, received two critical and five non-critical violations. Critical violations included cold foods not being held at the correct temperature and refrigerated, ready-to-eat foods not being properly date marked. Both critical violations were corrected during the inspection.
  • Snack Shack, 2560 Millville Oxford Road, inspected Jan. 9, received one critical and six non-critical violations. The critical violation was for “improper display of toxic materials offered for retail.” The violation was corrected during the inspection.
  • Krishna, 28 W. High St., inspected Jan. 17, received one critical violation for holding sanitizing fluid at incorrect temperature and concentration.
  • Subway, 5720 College Corner Pike, received one critical violation Jan. 17 for not keeping the handwashing sink accessible for use.
  • Oxford Lanes, 4340 Oxford Reily Road, inspected Jan. 12, received one critical violation for cold foods not being held at the proper temperature. The violation was corrected during the inspection.
  • Walmart, 5720 College Corner Pike, inspected Dec. 28, received five critical and two non-critical violations. Critical violations included holding food packages in poor condition, not properly protecting food from contamination, holding cold foods at improper temperatures and holding hot water for mechanical sanitation below the required temperature. All but one violation were corrected during the inspection.

  • United Dairy Farmers, 101 W. High St., inspected Dec. 19, received three critical and two non-critical violations. Critical violations included not holding hot and cold foods at the proper temperature and having an inaccessible hand washing sink. All critical violations were corrected during the inspection.
  • A One Shop, 3604 Southpointe Parkway, inspected Dec. 7, received three critical violations and one non-critical violation. Critical violations included cold foods not being held at a proper temperature, having unclean food-contact surfaces or utensils and using the hand sink for purposes other than hand washing. All critical violations were corrected during the inspection.
  • KDS Express, 4985 College Corner Pike, inspected Dec. 6, received two critical violations. Critical violations included having unclean food-contact surfaces or utensils and holding sanitizing solution at the wrong temperature and concentration.
  • Comfort Inn, 5056 College Corner Pike, inspected Dec. 12, received two critical violations and two non-critical violations. Critical violations included not holding hot and cold foods at the proper temperatures. Both critical violations were corrected during the inspection.
