Grant transforms Miami’s engineering curriculum

Miami University has been awarded a $308,750 grant from the Ohio Department of Higher Education to advance regional manufacturing and technology.

The funds will be used to augment the new Industrial Automation Laboratory in the Department of Engineering Technology at Miami’s regional campuses; assist in the transformation of the mechanical and manufacturing engineering department on the Oxford campus to incorporate more content related to the operation of a smart factory; and to expand the electrical and computer engineering department on the Oxford campus with two additional industrial robots. 

Faculty members Dave Hartup, Qihou Zhou, Reza Abrishambaf, Mert Bal, Fazeel Khan, Giancarlo Corti and Karl Reiff are involved in the implementation of the grant.
