“Unearthing National Security Secrets about Human Rights in Latin America” is the title of a talk by Miami University alumnus Michael Evans, a Latin American specialist from the National Security Archive at Georgetown University.

Evans uses documents acquired through the Freedom of Information Act and digitized by the National Security Archive. These documents are used by historians, truth commissions and court proceedings. Evans describes him and his colleagues’ work as a fresh approach to help promote social and political justice.

The talk is sponsored by the history department, and is set for 3 p.m. Nov.10, at Upham Hall 001.
