Refugee and women’s rights advocate Sandra Uwiringiyimana will talk about her memoir “How Dare the Sun Rise: Memoirs of a War Child,” at 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Harry T. Wilks Conference Center on Miami’s Hamilton Campus, 1601 University Blvd. 

Uwiringiyimana survived a massacre in the Democratic Republic of Congo before immigrating to North America and overcoming her trauma through art and activism. 

This event is free to the public and all are welcome.
