Catherine Grace Katz author of “The Daughters of Yalta,” will speak about her book at 7 p.m. Oct. 20 in the Parrish Auditorium on Miami University’s Hamilton campus.

The book discusses the daughters of Winston Churchill, Franklin Roosevelt, and Joseph Stalin who traveled to Yalta with their fathers for a critical conference between the three leaders as they worked to end World War II in 1945.

In her telling the daughters’ fierce family loyalty, political savviness, and intertwined romances powerfully colored the three days.

The story “bridges the periods of World War II and the Cold War while foreshadowing the conflict in the former Soviet Union today,” said historian Michael J. Colligan.

A book signing and reception will follow the event.
