Audubon Miami Valley is sponsoring a field trip to Shawnee Lookout Park Saturday, Oct. 22. 

Tom Borgman, a recently retired Great Parks naturalist, will lead the exploration. Those interested in attending are asked to meet at 9 a.m. at the park, 2008 Lawrenceburg Road. People wishing to follow the trip leaders as they drive from Oxford should meet at 7:45 a.m. at the TJ Maxx parking lot, 550 S. Locust St. 

The 2,000-acre park includes nature trails with views at the the junction of the Great Miami and Ohio Rivers. The park, operated by Great Parks of Hamilton County, also features the historic Springhouse School and Log Cabin and Native American archeological earthworks.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a personal lunch for an informal midday picnic. Good walking shoes, personal water supply, insect repellent and sunscreen are recommended.
