Mark Mussman, who graduated from Miami’s Western Program in 2001, will speak about homelessness and gentrification Oct. 18. The event will be at Peabody Hall.

Mussman is the director of education at the Greater Cincinnati Homeless Coalition. He is the author of “Steal the Street,” a collection of his essays focused on gentrification, public space and community voice in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Mussman educates individuals, groups and organizations to build community and create opportunity.

The reception will be 5 to 6 p.m. Oct. 18, and the author talk will be from 6 to 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. A livestream of the event will also be available.
