A reading of Appalachian poetry with live musical accompaniment will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 6, at Harry T. Wilks Conference Center.

Ohio’s Poet Laureate Kari Gunter-Seymour and others will read from a new poetry collection edited by Gunter-Seymour, “I Thought I Heard a Cardinal Sing — Ohio’s Appalachian Voices.”

The American Academy of Poets and Andrew W. Mellon foundation supported the anthology to celebrate the diversity of Ohio’s Appalachian culture.
