Of 12 Oxford restaurants inspected by the Butler County General Health District since July 21, seven were cited with critical health violations.

The Oxford restaurants where no critical violations were observed were Oxford Coffee Company, 21 Lynn Ave. Suite 102; Happy Kitchen, 32 W. High St.; Krishna Carry Out, 28 W. High St.; Graeter’s, 29 W. High St; and The Hitching Post Saloon, 4319 Hamilton Richmond Road.

Aqua Tea, 33 W. High St., inspected on Aug. 9, received six critical and 13 non-critical violations. Critical violations included presence of live insects and rodents, cleanliness of equipment, lack of an individual certified in food safety management and insufficient air gap between the flood rim and the water supply inlet.

Kofenya, 38 W. High St., inspected on Aug. 11, received two critical and nine non-critical violations. Critical violations included presence of live insects and rodents and improper storage of toxic materials.

Insomnia Cookies, 33 E. High St., inspected on Aug. 23, received one critical and four non-critical violations. Critical violation: Employees were not informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health. The facility did not have an employee health policy on file. Violations were corrected during inspection.

Skippers Pub, 121 E. High St., inspected on Aug. 10, received two critical and seven non-critical violations. Critical violations included improper use of non-continuous cooking with spit rotisserie and allowing an insufficient air gap between the flood rim and the water supply inlet on the sink.

Gaslight Brewhouse, 325 S. College Ave., inspected on Aug. 10, received one critical and one non-critical violation. A critical violation was given because lettuce, tomatoes and cheese were not being kept at the proper temperature.

Patterson’s Café, 103 W Spring St., inspected on Aug. 4, received one critical and three non-critical violations. A critical violation was given because equipment food-contact surfaces or utensils were unclean. Violations were corrected during inspection.

Don’s Carry Out, 4325 Hamilton Richmond Rd., inspected on July 22, received two critical and three non-critical violations. Critical violations included foods not being kept at the proper temperature or properly marked with expiration dates. Violations were corrected during inspection.
