More than 4,100 new Miami University students moved into their campus residence halls the weekend of Aug. 18-22.

This year’s freshmen class includes students representing 44 states, Washington D.C., and 39 countries, according to a university press release.

Nearly two-thirds of Miami’s newest students are Ohio natives and had an average high school GPA of 3.88. First-generation students also make up 16.8% of the class.

The incoming 2026 class represents a 10% decrease in admitted students from last year, as 2025’s class included more than 4,600 students.
