OPD takes reports on sexual assault of child; stolen handgun


Several possible felonies were among the list of incident reports summarized in the Oxford Police Department’s weekly report released July 18.

A resident on South Locust Street reported to police that a handgun had been stolen from his vehicle on July 14.

On July 15, Oxford Police took a report alleging physical and sexual abuse of a child under age 13. “No suspects have been positively identified at this time, but the investigation is ongoing,” according to the department’s report.
