Miami administrator’s #MeToo book available July 26

Cristina Alcalde, Miami University’s vice president for institutional diversity and inclusion, co-edited a book titled “#MeToo and Beyond: Perspectives on a Global Movement.” The book will be published July 26.

“#MeToo and Beyond” includes input from scholars and activists worldwide about the impact of the global movement. It focuses on universal and specific experiences of survivors of sexual assault, along with topics of gender roles and assumptions, victim shaming, and international movements.

Alcalde is a professor of global and intercultural studies. She has authored and edited many books, including “Peruvian Lives across Borders: Power, Exclusion, and Home.”

Alcalde’s co-editor Paula-Irene Villa is chair and professor of sociology and gender studies at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and president of the German Sociological Association.
