At around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, Oxford Police received a report of a man breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment at the corner of Locust and High streets. When police responded, the man barricaded himself inside the apartment which caused a standoff that led into the night.
Crisis negotiators attempted to contact the man but received no response. Eventually, Butler County SWAT utilized gas and a K9 unit and arrested the suspect around 9:30 p.m.
