Pyramid Hill is hosting a Founders Day celebration March 8 and 9 in honor of its founder, Harry T. Wilks.
The park was founded in 1997 and is one of the largest sculpture parks in the nation. It was recognized as the USA Today’s Readers’ Choice #4 Best Sculpture Park in America.
The Pyramid House reopened in 2023 and is home to the park’s antiquities collection. Steven Tuck, professor of history at Miami University, will give two lectures about the antiquities in the Pyramid House Collection. Both lectures are on March 9, according to the press release.
The first lecture is at 11 a.m. and is on Myth & Storytelling in Antiquity. The second lecture is at 1 p.m. and is about Decorating in Antiquity.
The park will announce its new partnership with the McCloskey Wonder Museum during the celebration. It will also open a new exhibit from Kim Radochia, “Botanical Fantastical.” The new exhibit will be open March 8 through July 27. Radochia will also hold a series of workshops at the end of April.
The park is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Gallery Museum and Pyramid House will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on March 8 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 9. There is also family-friendly programming from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 9.
The full weekend will be free admission for all.
