Oxford’s McCullough-Hyde Foundation approved a community grant of $62,670 that addresses significant local health needs. A total of 17 community organizations were awarded a portion throughout Butler and Preble counties in Ohio, and Franklin and Union counties in Indiana.
Of the 27 grant applications submitted, grant amounts were awarded to the following local organizations:
- Talawanda Oxford Pantry & Social Services received $12,500 to maintain a cold shelter program.
- Thread Up Oxford received $7,500 to fund the Karma Bucks program, which provides clothing vouchers to local social service agencies to distribute to clients throughout the greater Oxford area.
- Oxford SAY Soccer received $5,000 for replacement equipment and field maintenance
- The Interfaith Center at Miami received $3,500 for mental health programming for faith and interfaith communities on the Miami University campus and in the Oxford community.
- Makos Swim Team received $3,000 to upgrade dryland equipment, enabling proper training and fitness opportunities for Oxford-area youth.
- H.O.P.E.-full Pastures Therapeutic Farm received $2,000 to offer sessions for children and families in the Talawanda School District.
- Oxford Area Solutions for Housing received $1,570 for enhancing support for people experiencing homelessness in Oxford.
- Oxford Community Arts Center received $1,100 to support The Gritty Canvas, a free therapeutic art group for adult cancer patients and survivors.
The McCullough-Hyde Foundation partners with local organizations that are dedicated to building healthier communities. Through its community grants, the foundation provides funding for initiatives focused on education, awareness and direct care. These grants support efforts in areas such as mental health, substance abuse prevention, access to healthcare and more.
