The Oxford Presbyterian Church will host Solvita Blood Center for a blood drive. The drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1 in the Seminary Building at 104 E. Church St.
Solvita (formerly Community Blood Center) holds registration by phone, (937) 461-3220, or at www.donortime.com. Registrants who sign up through the month of October through Nov. 2 will receive a free t-shirt. Participants also have the chance to win two tickets for the Nov. 30 OSU vs. Michigan football game by registering before Oct. 26. Registering will automatically enter them in a raffle.
Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the drive is focusing on cancer patient health. The free T-shirt says “Fight Cancer” with the pink breast cancer ribbon. Solvita says that one-fourth of all blood donations go to cancer patients.
People wanting to donate must fill out a questionnaire, which can be done ahead of time at www.solvita.org/donorxpress. On the day of the drive, donors must bring an I.D. with their full name, and a Solvita I.D. if they have them. Donors must be over 17 and 16-year-olds must have parental consent. There is a weight requirement of 110 lbs, but donors may be turned away for low weight-to-height ratios.
Individuals with eligibility questions can email [email protected] or call (937) 461-3220. Make an appointment at www.DonorTime.com.
