Defending Democracy, a bipartisan sub-group of the Butler County Progressive PAC, will be hosting its second Community Conversation at Oxford Lane Library on Tuesday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. The conversation will center around the civic engagement of young voters and increasing student voter turnout.
The event will feature guest speaker Patrick Houlihan, a junior political science major at Miami University who was recently elected as a delegate to the National Democratic Convention. Houlihan will give a 10 minute presentation before attendees will break into small groups for further discussion.
This Tuesday’s event is the second hosted by Defending Democracy, following the first Community Conversation hosted on March 6. Event organizers say they hope the conversation will help pave the way for future events on different subjects.
