Salamander Run isn’t what it sounds like: It’s a hiking trail that Audubon Miami Valley is using to locate birds this Saturday.
Audubon Miami Valley is sponsoring a field trip to Salamander Run, 4821 Layhigh Rd., in Hamilton on Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Salamander Run is a MetroParks of Butler County property that features easy to moderate hiking trails through a variety of prairie and forest habitats. Fall birdwatchers might hope to glimpse a red-tailed hawk, pileated woodpecker, bluebird or cedar waxwing.
The outing will be led by Randy Morgan. Participants will meet at the park at 9 a.m.
