The 120th anniversary concert of the Miami University Symphony Orchestra will be at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 21 at Hall Auditorium.
The Miami symphony will be joined by Denison University Orchestra to perform Symphony No. 4 by Brahms. The performance is free and open to the public.
The performance at Miami University will be conducted by Ricardo Averbach and will be repeated the following day at Denison University conducted by Philip Rudd.
According to a news release, the homecoming weekend concert is a part of Daniel Pearl World Music Days. It is a global network of concerts named after Daniel Pearl, a Wall Street Journal reporter who was kidnapped and murdered by extremists in Pakistan in 2002. His family and friends created the Daniel Pearl Foundation to inspire unity, promote harmony through humanity and encourage empathy.
