Miami to offer adult art workshops

Miami University’s College of Creative Arts will offer adult workshop classes called “CraftSummer” intended to “strengthen creativity, develop personal expression and provide a sense of community among people interested in art, design and the crafts.”

The hands-on art workshops are offered as week-long or weekend-long classes. Weekend-long classes start as soon as Feb. 11 and run until the end of June. The week-long classes are exclusively in the month of June.

Weekend workshops include drypoint painting, colored pencil drawings, EcoPrints, earring making and other hands-on options. Week-long workshops have sculpting, photography, basket weaving, book making and metal pressing. The classes take place on campus in 103 Phillips Hall.

Fees range based on the program. Participants must be 18 years old or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
