The Oxford Community Arts Center (OCAC) invites you to make some artwork to brighten up the dreary winter scene. It offers these crafty suggestions:
Write a poem – Submit one poem or a collection of poems on the theme of winter – any part of the season – from the cold snow to the toasty fireplace. Submit poems with a title, your name and social media handles (if any) to info@oxarts by March 1.
Make a wind chime – Use anything you can find around the house for this project – flower pots or bottle caps, spare keys, recycled cans, old pop bottles, or any other old bits and scraps you have that make a pleasing noise when they clatter together. Then take it over to the office at OCAC and they will let you hang it up.
Paint and hide a rock – Hide it on the grounds of the OCAC, located at 10 S. College Ave. The staff there suggests visiting the Oxford Rocks Facebook group for ideas.
Make a flower out of plastic bags – This is a great project to do while waiting for spring. OCAC plans to feature this project in March, but encourages you to do a little research here.
If you have questions about any of these ideas, contact the arts center at (513) 524-8506, or email info@oxarts.org.
