The Oxford Community Arts Center will hold October’s Second Friday Celebration of the Arts at 6 p.m. on Oct. 11. The event is free and open to the public.
The event will start with a gallery reception in the first floor galleries and an opportunity for attendees to meet the featured artists, Ellen Price, Marta Wendt, and Plein Air Group. OCAC’s website describes the gallery as mixed medium; attendees will be exposed to each artist’s unique perspective and techniques.
After the gallery reception, a concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the ballroom. This month’s musical guest is Dorkestra, the “brainchild” of Molly Bowers Franklin. The group is making its quasi-annual return to Oxford.
Franklin and her group mates select the music for each concert with the assistance of her brother-in-law, Maestro Thom Wyatt.
Attendees are also welcome to meet OCAC’s resident artists in their third floor studio spaces and explore the art shop, where they can purchase creations from local artists.
