Oxford Citizens for Peace and Justice (OCPJ) named Chantel Raghu and Shana Rosenberg winners of the annual Oxford Peace and Justice award.

Raghu is vice-mayor of Oxford. Rosenberg serves on the city’s Housing Advisory and Planning Commission and founded the nonprofit Thread up Oxford.

According to the organization, both women “work seemingly tirelessly, contributing their time, energy and homes to redistributing resources, working in solidarity with those living in poverty.”

The OCPJ presented the awards at a Bread Not Bombs dinner in December at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. The first Oxford Bread Not Bombs dinner took place in 1986, while the Oxford Citizens for Peace and Justice formed in 1979.
