McGuffey House and Museum administrator Stephen Gordon will talk about the rural landscape of Preble County at the museum’s monthly program at 3 p.m. Nov. 1 at Miami University’s Art Museum auditorium.

Titled “Beech Woods and Barns of the Boulder Belt: Reading the Rural Landscape of Preble County,” Gordon’s talk draws on archival records and field studies. Aspects of Preble County’s rural landscape reveal settlement patterns and historic agricultural and building practices that characterized the county’s farm economy during the 19th century.

The art museum’s front desk will help to check in and register cars for a parking pass. The art museum is located at 801 S. Patterson Ave, Oxford.
