Lecture series to host talk about Ukraine war

Michael Kimmage, chair of the history department at The Catholic University of America, will host a talk titled “The Four Origins of the War in Ukraine” co-sponsored by the Havighurst Center and Grayson Kirk Distinguished Lecture Series. 

The lecture will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the Harry T. Wilks Theater at the Armstrong Student Center.

Kimmage held the Russia/Ukraine portfolio from 2014 to 2016 while he served as a member of the Secretary’s Policy Planning Staff at the U.S Department of State. He is the author of three books: “The Conservative Turn: Lionel Trilling, “Whittaker Chambers and the Lessons of Anti-Communism,” “In History’s Grip: Phillip Roth’s Newark Trilogy,” and Wolfgang Koeppen’s “Journey through America.”
