Of the five Miami University dining areas inspected by the Butler County General Health District since July 21, two were cited with critical health violations.
The dining areas where no critical violations were observed were Garden Commons, 95 N. Patterson Dr.; Café Lux in Armstrong Student Center, 550 Spring St.; and Red Zone in Armstrong Student Center, 550 Spring St.
MapleStreet Station, 521 Maple St., inspected Aug. 26, received one critical violation. A critical violation was given because foods were not being held at the proper temperature. Plain and strawberry cream cheese were observed not being kept at the proper temperature.
Western Dining Commons, 480 Western Drive, inspected Aug. 30, received one critical violation. A critical violation was given because of an insufficient air gap between the flood rim and the water supply inlet of the self-serve beverage station by the salad bar.
