Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park
Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park will host its annual catch and release Wilks Insurance Fishing Derby Saturday, June 18, according to a press release from the Hamilton attraction.
Participants are asked to bring their own rods to fish for bass, crappie and bluegill on the property. Hamilton Bait and Tackle will provide bait on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Children ages 5 to 17 are invited to participate in a tournament from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Registration will open at 9:30 a.m. The derby will have separate categories for children ages 5 to 13 and 14 to 17. Prizes will be awarded for the Biggest Fish and the Most Fish Caught in both groups. All kids need to have a supervising adult onsite to assist them.
The park will host its first ever adult competition for individuals aged 18 and over from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Registration opens at 12:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded, and a mobile bar will open at 1 p.m.
Food truck vendor Best Thing Smokin’ will be on site and open at noon for all guests. Following the derby, there will be a Happy Hour starting at 4 p.m. including beer and wine specials. The bar and food truck will close at 5 p.m.
Park admission is free for those who participate in the contest.
